For this project, Midas Environmental prepared an Environmental Impact Assessment strategy (EIA), implementation program and budget for an exploration company considering copper and gold prospecitvity in the Mid-West region of Western Australia. The project is currently underway and our environmental consultants work with the general management, geologists and 'fieldies' to adapt and improve efficiencies of the EIA as the project progresses.

Midas Environmental conducted an in-depth due diligence of the Norilsk Nickel NL Black Swan Nickel operations, with particular emphasis on costs of closure, closure liability, environmental compliance, environmental approval status and current and future risks.

Subdivision

Wilkie Civil Engineering, as part of Midas Engineering Group, was approached by Octennial to create housing lots on a severely polluted site. The land had previously housed a Cumming Smith Superworks site, a phosphate processing plant. After remedial works, the objective of the subdivision was to create river views for all houses.

Fishermen Group - Fishermen's Memorial

Wilkie Civil Engineering, as part of Midas Engineering Group, was involved in the structural design of a jetty, as part of a memorial for those who pioneered the professional fishing industry in Fremantle and Rockingham. The jetty was crafted out of three different materials, each material representing a different era that the previous generations of fishermen had worked in.

Fremantle Sailing Club - Junior Club House and Wave Protection

For this project, our engineers designed a new junior club house including wave protection to provide a calm area for junior club members to rig their boats and set sail. This work was carried out on a pro bono basis.

Environmental Management Plan (Housing)

Midas Environmental prepared an environmental management plan for subdivision approval by the Shire of Northam located East of Perth, WA. Due to the location of the project, a number of environmental issues were addressed, specifically in relation to rainfall catchment areas, remnant forest and Black Cockatoo habitat. The subdivision was approved and development is currently underway in conjunction with Midas Engineering Group services.
